When introverted Touka Mimori is summoned to another world alongside his classmates, he gains the ability to inflict status ailments like paralysis or poison on his foes. Unfortunately, such skills are deemed useless due to their low effectiveness, leading to Touka being labeled an E-rank hero. His situation worsens when Vicius, the goddess who summoned them, announces that the weakest hero will be eliminated to avoid holding back the more talented ones. Banished to a perilous area, Touka faces near-certain death when a minotaur-like beast corners him. In a desperate bid for survival, he uses his seemingly worthless skill—only to discover that it works almost flawlessly. Empowered by his newfound advantage to incapacitate monsters, Touka sets out to seek revenge on the goddess who cast him aside.
